Heather & Tim's Wedding

Remember Heather & Tim? (Take a peek at their engagement session here)  Well, now they are Mr. and Mrs. Heather&Tim!

Heather and Tim were married at a the shore-front Oceanside Marina Suites.  It was a great location at the end of the Oceanside Harbor.  The grassy area jets out and you're surrounded by the Pacific Ocean on three sides.  The views are great!

Aside from the location, there were so many details that made their day incredibly heartwarming.  I loved the personalized Chuck Taylors.  The hand-made bouquet was gorgeous.  The "something borrowed" and "something blue" garter with anniversary dates of Heather's family sewn in was sweet.  But I think what made this wedding so special was the emphasis on family.  Heather and Tim each came into their union with their own children.  The day placed emphasis on the fact that a marriage is truly a combining of families.  Those moments where Tim asked his boys to help him put on his suit were touching.  Heather's daughter reaching out and touching Heather's face telling her she was beautiful moments before walking down the aisle nearly brought a tear to my eye too!

Heather wore these sweet custom Chucks.  They had their wedding date sewn in.  The guys all wore converse as well, but theirs were brown with pink laces.  Very fun.

It became apparent after my very first meeting with Heather and Tim that family is more important to both of them than anything.  I think some of the most special moments throughout the day were shared between each of them with their kids.  They took care to involve each of them in the day's events, which is great, because that's what weddings are at the root... the joining of families.

So here's something cool.  A lot of brides use their garter as an opportunity to check of their "something blue" requirement.  Heather did too.  But Heather's blue garter was quite special.  Her mom had sewn in the anniversary dates of  the married women in her family.  So it was also something shared... which should be a requirement too, I think.  :)

I love the emotion here where Heather first took Tim's arm as they proceeded to be married.

I don't think I've ever shot a wedding where there wasn't at least a little bit of face-cake-smashing going on.  What does this mean?  That the couples I work with are AWESOME?  That must be it.

It was truly a beautiful day and a day filled with love.  Congratulations to Tim & Heather

Christine & Brandon's Wedding

I was so lucky to be a part of Christine and Brandon's wedding day on April 9th.  Their wedding was so beautiful, and one of my favorite kind of weddings... every element was very meaningful, and her closest family and friends had so much involvement.  Oh, and fun!

Their wedding day began with Christine's walk down the "aisle" {{over the Park Blvd. bridge connecting Balboa Park to the Rose Garden}} to the very spot where Brandon had proposed to her.  How awesome is that?  I don't think too many people can say their wedding ceremony took place in the same spot where they became engaged.  They were surrounded by a small handful of only their most important family and friends.  It was a short, intimate, and sweet ceremony... perfection!

Christine and Brandon pulled up to their reception in a gorgeous GORGEOUS classic car owned by the bride's family. Their brunch reception was held on the patio of  Gio Bistro and Wine Bar in downtown La Mesa... which is owned by Christine's  sister and her brother-in-law.  Brandon is an airline pilot and Christine is a flight attendant, so their tables were all named after important destinations, which was a very cute detail.  The patio was filled with about a hundred friends and family members, all so happy to be a part of Christine and Brandon's day.  And I do believe the newlyweds did not leave each other's sides for a single minute.  Aww...

Here are a few of my favorites from the day:

Beautiful wedding.   Congratulations to Christine and Brandon!
